Beer Soap

I've been wanting to try making beer soap for quite awhile.  I finally made some yesterday.

I didn't add any colorants or fragrances.  I'm pretty happy with how the color has turned out and the scent isn't very strong at all.  It just smells like soap with a tiny hint of bread.  The beer I used is Shiner Bock but I don't think the type of beer would've made a huge difference in the final product.  But I'll have to try another brand to see if it does make a difference or not.

Why use beer to make soap?  The hops in beer is what makes this soap so great.  Hops is said to be beneficial to the skin as well as providing a sense of calm and relaxation.  I do know for sure that it helps to make lots of extra creamy lather when used in a soap.  Unfortunately I will have to wait a few weeks before this soap will be ready to try out but I think it will be worth it.
